Metadata for EDS +-----------------------+ Date Updated: 2024-03-11 Site Details +----------+ Lat: 34.1585 Long: -117.5138 Elev: 536m Site Description: EDS is located on the alluvial fan at the base of the mountains north of San Bernardino, close to the Etiwanda Falls trailhead. To the east is a channel/spillway operated by the San Bernardino County Flood Control District. The station is located on a gradual south facing slope a short walk from the dirt access road. The station is surrounded by sage brush and enclosed by a barbed wire fence. Instrumentation note: N/A Instrumentation on site: -Data logger: CR1000X -Barometer (pressure): Vaisala PTB110 -Temperature/relative humidity: CS HygroVue10 -Tipping bucket (precipitation): TE525MM -Anemometer (wind speed/direction): RM Young 05108 -Pyranometer (solar radiation): CS320 -Soil moisture/temperature: Stevens Hydraprobes Processing +---------+ This data has not undergone any processing. CW3E is currently working on a partly automated, partly manual QC process to clean and improve all data as it is downloaded to make it easier for interested scientists and stakeholders to use. This is an ongoing effort and planned updates for precipitation and soil moisture data include the following: - Create automated flagging system for missing timestamps and for values outside of realistic range (e.g., <0). - Continue visual assessment for unrealistic jumps and comparisons between other nearby stream gauges and precipitation observations.
